I have not seen Donny Darko, but regardless of the movie, I am not that crazy with the figure either....

However, NECA's sculpts and quality control still have some major issues. They are doing some really great stuff, but they certainly are not a better company than McF overall. Let me ask this. does anyone truthfully think that NECA is finally taking some of the McFarlane steam away. I mean I argued at first that I thought neca wouldnt be able to maintain paying so much for licenses etc, but they really seem to be kicking ass. they seem to be really doing well and god love them, but McFarlane seems to be in a lull right now except for the dragons. Please dont flame me, I love McF, but just asking!
Collectors like myself are sick and tired of waiting and begging for different licenses...finally there is a company who is picking up the slack. Yes, it comes with a price - often subpar figures when compared to McF - but at least we are FINALLY getting certain characters in decent figure form. I am personally very content with that.
...And that's just in the case of NECA. IMO, Sota's Now Playing figures blow away anything McF or NECA has ever done in the way of movie figures. Sota's quality is unmatched thus far and I know I'm not alone in that opinion.
McFarlane makes some amazing sports figures, amazing Spawn figures, and some damn cool and interesting 'original' lines. Beyond that, I don't know that there's much to say about them any more. They are still the leaders and innovators, but where they've looked the other way or dropped the ball, other companies have been all too happy to step in. So we've wound up with some companies trying to be what McF used to be, and McF boldly moving into the future. They say action figure collecting is dead, but I think it's better now than it's ever been [img]smile.gif[/img]
Series one didn't really do anything for me, I didn't buy any of them.
I bought Patrick Bateman and Eric Draven (to replace the McF one cause I think the NECA one looks much better) from Serie 1 and only bought Freddy from Serie 2

the Gremlin is the only cult classic figure worth bothering with if you ask me, wish they'd make some more friggin gremlins already
I don't think they have any plans to make anymore Gremlins. The only reason Mohawk was even made is because he was left over from the Gremlins line, after they decided to cancel series 2.
I like the film American Psycho, but just never had any desire for a figure of Bateman. I might pick it up someday just for the fuck of it.
